For Interviewees

A Few things To Know If I Will be Interviewing You

  • I take times pretty seriously. Nearly all of the time I will call within 10 minutes of our scheduled time. Be prepared. Have a quiet room to yourself, get a phone with good quality, maybe take some water and have a good chair.
  • I don't like short interviews. Never have. If you only have a couple minutes, it's probably a better idea that we reschedule.
  • The caller ID will probably either show a weird number or no number at all. This is normal, I'm using Skype. Pick up!
  • I don't like my interviews to be Bill O'Reily serious or Nardwuar silly. I love interviewees who can joke around and I love interviewees who I can talk to seriously about politics or life. Be yourself!
  • If the interview is live, I'll ask you if it's okay if my chatroom sends in their questions. If you say yes, the listeners will ask away and I'll repeat it to you. Some questios are weird, others are hilarious, other are serious. Be prepared for anything!
  • I don't release all of my recorded interviews. Most, but if I know that an interview was bad, I'm not going to put it up. You may ask me why yours was not put up, but keep your cool. It's not the end of the world, and you have officially been warned.
  • I like my interviews to be a conversation. It's more comfortable. It's more interesting. A good attitude goes a long way. I don't mind if you ask me a question. I'll probably cut it out of the recorded final product, but it eases up the interview and sets us both on the same level.
  • Give me an email to send the interview to. Once I do this, please send the link around. While our interviews already get a fair number of views, when bands like Bomb The Music Industry! post our interviews on their site, the number of views skyrockets. We have to do a double take.
